In Chris Preston's "Can Learning Be Engaging AND Rigorous?" blog post, he talks about the importance of connecting "busy classrooms with engaged students" and high test scores. He mentions Barbara Blackburn and her new book with Ron Williamson, Rigor in Your School: A Toolkit for Leaders, and goes on to talk about the engaging Skype conversation Blackburn had with members of Preston's faculty. At the end of the post, Preston writes, "Can busy classrooms with engaged students equal learning at a higher level? I think so."
